Jessie Rose will teach the Kreative Kids, Kreative Teens, Home SchooledAdvanced Teens Classes Basic Acting for Non-Actors and  Basic Acting - Advanced. Jessie is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.

KREATIVE KIDS
AGES 7 - 10
Student actors will learn the basic of theatre focusing on, stage directions, expressing their emotions, learning through theatre games, building confidence and self-esteem. This class will help control stage fright and teach young actors how to focus and speak loud and clear in front of an audience. By using tongue twisters and memory games every lesson is a fun experience for each child.

KREATIVE KIDS

ages 10-13 

We review basic theatre and continue to add layers. We begin to play improvisation games and selected scene work. We also cover auditioning skills, monologues and still use theatre games as a teaching tool to encourage creativity and imagination. At this age we work on diction and projection to help with the use of our voice on stage.

KREATIVE TEENS
ages 13-17
Come and learn exciting skills and what it takes to be a teen in the acting world. We cover the basics of theatre like, stage directions, conquering stage fright, and theatre terms. We will also, work on audition skills, memorization and diction techniques. This class will let you be creative and show you different aspects of the theatre. We will design our costumes, create our make-up and perform a short play where all of our skills will come together.
tuesdays: 5 - 7 pm 
 

HOME SCHOOL CLASS
What a fun way for your kids to socialize and work on skills they will need the rest of their lives. Our classes are non-threatening and a great way to build confidence and self- esteem. It will be a fun learning experience through theatre games, character building and working together. We will be rehearsing different scenes from plays, monologues and movies. *Actors can audition to perform in BackYard Theatre plays during the year.

ADVANCED TEEN 
ages 13-17

thursdays: 5 - 7 pm
You need to auditions for the Advanced One Act class. Any teens interested in enrolling in this class needs to have 2 contrasting minute monologues and have prior training. We will be doing a One- Act play based on the number and gender of the class.

 


                                                            

BASIC ACTING 
FOR NON ACTORS

  Ages 18 –118

learn the techniques that actors use to: 
- Relax in front of others  (overcome stage fright) - 
- Become a better observer of others and the environment -
- Have fun being in your own skin - 
Understand the basics of theatre. 

It is perfect for Attorney’s,
Salespeople, Teachers, Homemakers, etc.  
The course is taught in a non-threatening & nurturing environment and is designed for those ages 19 – 99.

BASIC ACTING II

Basic Acting II is a continuation of the first course  that Steven Stoli taught for the past 4 years. It is designed for those adults who have graduated from the Basic Acting I course and want to study further.  Class members will work on more advanced exercises and also scene studies.  Jessie Rose, who is the Director of The Acting Studio at The Playhouse will teach.  Jessie is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York
(Requires Basic I)
